Dust Masks

Protection from dust is important when working in dusty farming environments such as with livestock or grain handling.

FFP2 masks can be used to protect against harmful water and oil-based particles, with a maximum workplace exposure limit (WEL) of 10 times the normal concentration. However, they do not provide protection against carcinogenic substances, radioactive particles, or airborne biological agents of risk group 3 and enzymes. The total leakage of an FFP2 mask is limited to 8%, and it can filter out at least 94% of contaminants from the inhaled air. This type of mask is often used for handling soft wood, metal, plastics (excluding PVC), and oil mist.

FFP3 masks provide superior protection against harmful and carcinogenic particles, including water and oil based substances, radioactive particles, and airborne biological agents. With a 99% filter efficiency and a maximum leakage of 2%, these masks can be used in high-risk environments with contaminant concentrations up to 20 times the workplace exposure limit.
